The Sierra County Fair was established in 1940.
General Rules & Regulations
1. The Sierra County Fair will officially open Thursday morning at 8 a.m. and will close Sunday at 12 p.m. All exhibits will be exhibited at the Sierra County Fair Buildings.
2. Open Exhibitors of all ages must be residents of Sierra County with the exception of the Horse Show.
3. Junior Division exhibitors (4-H or FFA) must be a resident of the county or a student enrolled in the T-or-C School District or be a bonafide 4-H or FFA member of Sierra County, in good standing, to be eligible to be an exhibitor. Cloverbud members are not eligible to show in market classes.
4. The principal purpose of all fairs is their educational value. With this in mind, we invite you to enter as many exhibits as you possibly can, subject to individual department restrictions. No entry fee will be charged except for the livestock exhibits. Ribbons will be awarded to winning entries.
5. No article placed in booths shall be entered for competition in the individual division.
6. All exhibit entries will be received and judged according to the Schedule of Events.
7. Qualified judges have been obtained for all divisions. Decisions of judges will be final.
8. All exhibits must remain in place until released by the Department Superintendent at 12 p.m. Sunday. Exhibits are to be picked up between 12-3 p.m.
9. The management is not responsible for theft, loss or damage to any property, or personal injury to any exhibitor or visitor on the show grounds; however precautions will be taken to avoid such loss, damage or injury.
10. Ribbons must remain on exhibit until Department Superintendent has authorized removal of the exhibit.
11. In cases where the Fair Book does not allow for a class, such articles may be entered and marked “For Exhibit Only.”
12. Any disagreements or complaints occurring during the fair will have to be submitted in writing before the Fair Committee will consider the complaint valid. The decision of the Fair Committee will be final.
13. All dogs on the fairgrounds must be on a leash. No dogs will be allowed in the Fair Barn Exhibit Hall or Livestock areas.
14. No alcoholic beverages will be allowed on the Fairgrounds, except in designated locations.
