Entry Fees/ Eligibility
Showmanship jackets for Novice, Junior and senior 4-H; Herdsman; Premiums. Showmanship is judged based on showmanship skills throughout the entire horse show including the showmanship class. A separate judge will be used.
Age Divisions
- $5.00/class or $50 for entire show
- Stalls may be requested. Cost includes a $20/animal cleaning deposit (refundable if left in good condition.) You must board your horse at fairgrounds or at arena until Sunday at 1:00pm to qualify for the herdsman award.
- All horses must be sound. Age of the animal is as of January 1st of the current year.
- Blue/black jeans with a long sleeve, button shirt, cowboy boots and hat required. Must meet to be in arena.
- A regular or show halter is appropriate for showmanship; Romal Reins and leg boots ARE allowed. Tie downs and roping reins are allowed in Speed events. Boots allowed.
- Points will be an accumulation of ALL Classes. Mares and Geldings will not be included in all around. 6 pts will be awarded to a 1st placing, 5pts to 2nd placing, 4 pts to 3rd placing, 3 pts to 4th placing, etc.
- Ties will be broken by the greatest number of 1st places followed by 2nd places, etc.
- Banners to Grand and Reserve Champion Gelding and Mare
- 1st Place Class Awards, Hi-Pt Awards for each age division, Ribbons for 1st-6th Place
- All Around Buckles awarded to an individual in each age category; Reserve All around awards to each age.

Age Divisions
- Walk Trot- Can be led or ride on their own.
- 8 & under/Cloverbud- they must ride independently; NO Leadline
- 9-11/Novice- must have passed 9th but not 12th birthday by Sept 1st of the current year
- 12-13/Junior- must have passed12th, but not 14th birthday by Sept 1st of the current year
- 14-19/Senior- must have passed 14th but not 20th birthday by Sept 1st of the current year
- Ranch Pleasure: Youth will be on the rail and exhibit the horse’s ability to walk, trot, extended trot, lope and extended lope. This class is judged on the horse’s ability to follow commands and transition between gates. (If you were having to ride out across a pasture, which horse would be the most “pleasurable” to ride?
- Working Cow Class: There will be a 3 minute time limit to perform the entire work. Please refer to age group to determine which part you will complete.
- Part 1 Boxing: Rider shall enter the arena and call for their cow. The cow shall be controlled on one end of the arena for a sufficient amount of time to demonstrate the horse’s ability to hold the cow.
- Part 2 Boxing/Fence: Rider shall enter the arena and call for their cow. The cow shall be controlled on one end of the arena for a sufficient amount of time to demonstrate the horse’s ability to hold the cow. Once cow is controlled, the rider shall release the cow and drive it down the side of the arena to the opposite end.
