All rules governing livestock in the General Rules and Regulations apply to this department. Breeding animals must meet qualifications of the breed association. Unfit animals shall be removed by Livestock Committee. All bulls must be shown with nose lead. No adhesives, paints or dyes may be used on any part of the body in preparing beef cattle for show. Horns must be tipped.

Lot 1 All Breeds - Non Market
1. Bull calves, 8 mos. & under
2. Bulls, 8 to 18 mos. of age
3. Bulls, over 18 mos. of age
4. Heifer calves, 8 mos. & under
5. Heifers, 8 to 18 mos. of age
6. Heifers, over 18 mos. of age
Lot 2 • Market Steers; 4-H & FFA Only
900 lbs. minimum, All steers will be shown together. If there are enough entries and variances, they will be divided into multiple weight classes.
Lot 3 • County Bred Steer; 4-H & FFA Only
1. Bull calves, 8 mos. & under
2. Bulls, 8 to 18 mos. of age
3. Bulls, over 18 mos. of age
4. Heifer calves, 8 mos. & under
5. Heifers, 8 to 18 mos. of age

- Steers must be born, raised and purchased in Sierra County
- Same rules as market steers apply with exception of nomination date, which is May 1st .
- County bred Steers will be shown before the regular steer show.
- The Champion County Bred Steer will be required to sell in the Jr. Livestock Sale.
