ALL INDOOR RULES
- All entries must be delivered to the fair building between 8am to 3pm on Wednesday of the fair and REMAIN UNTIL 12pm Sunday. Entries must be picked up between 12pm and 3pm on Sunday.
- All entries must be the original work of the exhibitor, who must be a living resident of Sierra County.
- All entries must be properly entered with the department superintendent and tagged before judging.
- Each craftsman may enter two works in each class (unless otherwise noted) completed within the LAST TWO YEARS and not previously judged at Sierra County Fair. All other work (copies, older works, work by other craftsman) will not be judged but shown for “Exhibit Only”.
- There will be Adult (ages 18 & over), Youth (ages 12 & under), and Junior (ages 13-17) divisions for each indoor department, except 4-H and Ag Mechanics.
- Ribbons will be awarded in each class, if merited.
- Decision of the judges will be final.
- Liability: Sierra County Fair holds no liability for loss or damage of works. However, attendants will be present during the hours the fair is open and do care will be shown to all entries.
- Department superintendents may create additional classes or re-classify entries as needed.
- Exhibitors MUST present claim tickets to redeem entries. All unclaimed entries as of 3pm Sunday are forfeited and become property of the Sierra Country Fair Association.
Sweepstake Trophy
All individual entries must be listed in the current fair book to be eligible for points toward the sweepstakes award. Individuals must have entries in more than one department to be eligible for the trophy. Points will be given as follows:

Each White Ribbon – 2 points Each Blue Ribbon – 4 points
The top exhibitor in each Department (crafts, home science, home arts and produce) will receive $25 for first, $15 for second and $10 for third place. 1. All contestants in this department must be bonafide 4-H or FFA members.
2. Projects exhibited in this department must be constructed by members under supervision of teacher, agent or leader and must not have been previously exhibited in this department.
3. All entries must be made on entry cards.
4. Articles exhibited will be brought to the fair by the exhibitor and picked up after the fair is over. The fair will take every precaution to see that articles are protected, but assumes no liability.
5. Projects will be received. from 8 a.m. till 3 p.m., Thursday of the fair. All projects must remain in place on exhibit until 1 p.m. Sunday.
6. Exhibits will be judged on workmanship, structural design, practical utility, selection of materials and finish.
7. AWARDS Premiums and ribbons will be awarded in all classes first through third place with a rosette to Best of Show
Premiums: 1st - $5, 2nd - $3, 3rd - $2
Class 1: Projects built by individual 4-H or FFA member with material cost of $25 or less.
Class 2: Same as Class 1 except with material costs $25 - $50
Class 3: Same as Class 1 except with material costs $50 - $100
Class 4: Same as Class 1 except with material costs over $100
Class 5: Projects built by a group. Either a 4-H Club or FFA Chapter.

DECORATIVE ART •Decorative Painting is a diverse art form that utilizes a variety of techniques and media to decorate both functional and nonfunctional surfaces. •Eligibility: The show is open to living artists, residents of Sierra County. All works must be that of the exhibitor and must have a decorative design or scene. All works must have been painted within the last two years and never before exhibited at the Sierra County Fair. •Entries may not be larger than 36”x48”. Each entry must be properly wired for hanging. No saw tooth hangars. Frames are required for all entries except wrap around canvasses. Protective covering such as glass or Plexiglas are highly recommended for watercolors, pastels, etc.
•All entries will be judged by a qualified professional artist, and the decision of the judge will be final.
•There will be one “Best of Show” ribbon awarded.
•The Fair Board reserves the right to decline any entry considered to be offensive or inappropriate.

Any amateur gardener or arranger may exhibit in any class unless otherwise stated. All entries will be received Thursday from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. Entries may be removed only between 1-3 p.m. Sunday. The Fair Association or Garden Club assumes NO responsibility for properties. Judging starts at 1 p.m. Thursday, at which time all exhibitors and committees are out of the area with the exception of Judges and Clerk. The Standard System of Judging will be used. Judges decisions are final. RULES: Containers will be provided at show. Specimens must be wellgroomed and free of dirt, insects and spray residue; no dressing such as polish, oils, etc., allowed on foliage. All entries must be gown by exhibitor; potted plants must have been in his possession 3 months. Named varieties given prefer- ence.
